While Memorial Day is a solemn time to remember America’s fallen heroes, it is also the unofficial start of summer and that typically means family gatherings and barbecues.
This year is different, however, with the coronavirus pandemic restricting get-togethers and canceling public events. The pandemic has also changed the hours for the country’s biggest retailer – Walmart.
Walmart is open Memorial Day 2020 (May 25) but will be on a shortened schedule to the pandemic. Walmart stores and Neighborhood Markets are open 7 a.m.-8:30 p.m. so if you need something, make sure to note the times.
The shortened schedule allows associates extra time to stock items and thoroughly clean stores, Walmart said.
One more thing to note: The Tuesday after Memorial Day will be another Walmart senior shopping hour. The hour will be held every Tuesday through the end of May and is for customers age 60 and older. The special time starts an hour before stores open; pharmacies and vision centers are also open during this time.
Check the store finder site or Walmart app for your local store’s hours, including pharmacy and vision centers.
