Sunday, Oct. 4 is National Taco Day — get your salsa ready — and a number of chains and franchises are offering freebies to celebrate.
Restaurant franchise Margaritas is even holding a taco-eating contest with the winner receiving free tacos for a year (more details below).
Here’s a roundup of some chains, franchises and companies offering free food and deals in honor of National Taco Day 2020.
Dos Toros Taqueria - The Florham Park restaurant is having a two-tacos-for-$5 deal. All entrees also cost $5, including burritos, quesadillas, salads, bowls and nachos.
goPuff - The online convenience store is offering $10 off orders of $18 or more with promo code “gotaco” at checkout, according to a report by RetailMeNot.
Jack in the Box - You can unlock an online coupon for two free tacos with any purchase, valid through Oct. 31.
Margaritas - Win free tacos for a year if you take on the “Taco Gigante Challenge," which is finishing a two-pound taco in one sitting. There are locations in Toms River, Wayne and Woodbridge.
On the Border - Get $2 tacos all day with a choice of crispy or soft tortillas, chicken tinga or seasoned ground beef.
Surf Taco - Get a free taco when you download and order from Surf Taco’s 2.0 app.
Taco Bell - The popular fast food chain announced it’s launching a permanent “Taco Gifter,” which is a taco e-gifting service. The first 10,000 people who use the service will receive a free taco, although not necessarily on National Taco Day. Taco Bell’s will announce on Twitter when the redeemable free tacos are available.
